A rain storm occuring during a very low tide (when coral is exposed to air for an hour or more) may have been responsible for killing this reef.
How long before the reef returns to it's former glory?
Most of the inshore reef in the far north (of the Great Barrier Reef) is in similar dead state.
How often are pictures of dead coral reefs published?
